Patches of pigmented cuticle, either with or without bristles and hairs are sometimes seen on the abdomen of hemizygous pharate adults.
Hemizygous l(2)37Ce5/Df(2L)TW130 animals survive to the third larval instar stage. l(2)37Ce5/Df(2L)TW130 ovaries from third instar larvae transplanted into wild-type late third instar host larvae usually develop to 50% of the normal adult size. Eggs in these ovaries are full sized, but no vitellogenic stages are seen.
Abdominal cuticle is missing and melanotic tumours are seen.
