Detailed Description

mei-9L1/mei-9A2 females show 37% X chromosome nondisjunction, compared to 0.33% in wild-type females. mei-9L1/mei-9A2 larvae are hypersensitive to ultraviolet light and nitrogen mustard.

mei-9L1 males show a lower frequency of crossing-over in the germ cells induced by larval feeding of 5-azacytidine or mitomycin C than wild-type males.

Reduces exchange.
