      RK2. Adults lack some peripheral ommatidia, usually in an irregular manner, producing a rough eye and a notched border. The head is an abnormal shape and head macrochaetae are deranged or absent. The palps are absent or grossly deformed. Thoracic bristles are deranged. Wings are often unexpanded.
