Abnormal trap-entry with ethyl acetate as the stimulus. This phenotype is at least partially dominant. Abnormal response to ethyl acetate and propionic acid, and a normal response to benzaldehyde in a chemosensory jump assay. ERG is normal. Giant fibre pathway physiology appears normals.
Abnormal trap-entry kinetics with ethyl acetate as stimulant (cf. ota1). In odor-elicited jump tests, subnormal responses occurred to ethyl acetate and propionic acid but not to benzaldehyde. ERG normal. Uppercase-ness of this gene's symbol stems from at least partial dominance associated with Ota3/+ females' trap-entry behavior.
