Polytene chromosomes normal.

Description

Deletion of nucleotides 1398-1405 (coordinates of the lesion are the position in the 2-μ-4a spliced form of pb). This results in a stop codon at residue 466. The mutant allele also contains the nucleotide polymorphism G1964C, which results in a C655S protein polymorphism.

Comment:

8 bp deletion of nucleotides 1398-1405 (with respect to pb-RA) leads to early translation termination at amino acid 466.

pb10/pb20 flies have vestigial maxillary palps, the labellar caps are fully transformed to tarsi and the pseudotracheae are missing.

The labial palp is transformed to prothoracic leg.
