Paralyzed briefly by mechanical shock, effected by banging a container of the flies (this barely, or not at all, stuns wild-type flies); mutant's paralysis is accompanied by wing beating and followed by erratic movements; when stimulated to jump and fly, does so abnormally for short distances. Lethal when raised at 29^oC.
