ssaC16/ssaP88 and ssaC16/Df(3R)bxd100 flies are viable and show complete transformation of the distal antenna to distal tarsus. Bristles show and extreme and consistent spineless phenotype. Fusions of most of the tarsal segments of the legs and also of the transformed aristapedia tarsus are seen.
