Flies are smaller than normal, with shorter, thin bristles. The size reduction is not so marked in the abdomen. Eyes are frequently deformed in shape and slightly rough. Wing shape and position is slightly atypical. Males are late in eclosion, viable and fertile. Females are sterile.
