      Some males have slightly smaller, protuberant eyes with rough facets. The scutellar shape is prolonged and markedly acute and has thin macrochaetae. The anterior macrochaetae are slightly bent and have their ends directed backward and slightly to the sides, the posterior macrochaetae are drawn together and often deformed.
