      Progeny containing heteroallelic combinations of vtd alleles eclose as adults with frequencies from 0% to 90% of the expected total. Many of the surviving adults are abnormal with thin bristles, rough eyes, reduced sex combs and incised wings.

      Recessive. Suppresses extra sex combs in Pc4/+ male flies.
