      Mutant eye discs are normal. Mutant adults have an abnormal reduced corneal pseudopupil (rcp) phenotype. The structure of the retina is grossly abnormal in adults; no photoreceptor cells can be identified and there is no trace of ommatidial organisation in the main part of the retina, although the superficial cone and pseudocone organisation is relatively normal.
