      Heat induced expression of simhs.PN within the first 4 hours of development causes severe morphological defects in the organisation of the CNS and head region. Lack of ventral epidermis and the corresponding medial denticle hairs in the ventral cuticle. This mutant phenotype can be explained by transformation of ventral ectodermal cells into CNS midline cells.
