Description

Antp N-terminal general potentiation region fused to Scr section including YPWM motif and homeodomain, with final C-terminal section from Antp, expressed from an Hsp70 promoter.

Expressed under the influence of a heat inducible promoter. Hybrid Antp with Scr preceding and commencing homeodomain.

      Phenotype assayed in mature embryos after 20mins heat shock at 37oC, 6-7 hours after egg laying: weak Scr phenotype as demonstrated by moderate head involution defect and ectopic beard in T2. Phenotype assayed in pharate adult heads after six heat shocks at 37oC for 60 mins, at four hour intervals from 69 +/- 0.5hr to 88 +/- 0.5hr after egg laying: weaker but qualitatively similar to hs-G17 phenotype, partial transformation of the arista into tarsal structures, reduction of eyes and Cephalothorax-like transformation of the occiput.
