      Female sex determining function: chromosomal XX tra- animals with one copy of the transgene usually have a male-like intersexual phenotype with a dominance of malformed male structures (smaller sex comb teeth and anal plates) but also with clear appearance of female structures such as spermathecae. Male fertility function: females mated to tra- males with one copy of the transgene give rise to 87.6 +/- 10.1% fertilized eggs.
