      Expression closely mimics that of h with some minor differences: the uniform expression in very early embryos is not observed; some components of the pattern are late in emerging (for example, the head patch not observed until stage 6); the stripes in early embryos are wider (6-7 cells wide); at stage 11, low levels of ectopic expression in the amnioserosa and the posterior head.
