      Deletion of the proximal-most250 bp of the 2.8 kb sna promoter results in sporadic EcollacZ expressionwithin the 18-cell-wide band wild type sna expression domain. Only 10-20% ofcells within the mesodermal domain, the lateral limits of which remainintact, express EcollacZ.
