An Hsp70 promoter drives expression of the N-terminal 95 amino acids of Su(var)205, containing the chromo domain, is fused upstream of an SV40 nuclear localisation signal and expressed under the control of an Hsp70 promoter as a Ecol\lacZ fusion.
