An X-linked copy of P{rib7} has no significant effect on the percentage of sex chromosome nondisjunction in T(1;4)mscd1 or T(1;4)mscd2 males.

Improves disjunction percentages in Df(1)X-1/Dp(1;Y)BSYy+ males to 60-64% (single inserts) and 77% (double inserts). Male fertility and recovery of reciprocal products are also improved. Restores fertility to following aberrations in combination with Df(1)X-1 : T(Y;2)P59, T(Y;2)H143, T(Y;2)B80, T(Y;3)B240, T(Y;3)H173, T(Y;3)H163, T(Y;3)R133 and T(Y;2)H158. Increases fertility of Df(1)X-1; T(Y;2)B80 from 0 to 71.4 or 74.2% (depending on insert).

Increases the frequency of nondisjunction X-Y seen in Df(1)X-1/Dp(1;Y)BSYy+ males.

P{rib7} stimulates X-Y pairing and disjunction when inserted onto Df(1)X-1, but not when inserted on an autosome.
