        Lethality occurs during larval and pupal development. Clones in the eye and lamina are abnormal, causing roughness of the eye surface and holes in the lamina. There are occasional escaper males, the optic lobes show consistent and dramatic disorganisation of the neuropil throughout the optic lobe.
