Enhancer trap staining is observed in 8 to 10 large cells in the lobula plate cortex that are thought to be the lobula plate giant neurons. Additional staining occurs in the innermost cells of the laminal cortex, most likely in the L5 neurons and a few other cells that are thought to be glia. Weak staining is seen in embryos in epidermal structures associated with head sensory organs. Transient expression is seen at stage 14 in the maxillary sense organ. In 3rd instar larvae, weak expression is seen in the perineurium of the larval brain.
