      A range of mouthpart phenotype is observed in pb5 flies carrying pbΔXho. Labial palps of can have aristal tissues present on the lateral aspects and sometimes aberrant pseudo tracheal rows. In cases with a stronger homeotic phenotype labial palps are tansformed into aristae. Leg tissues were not observed and maxillary palps appear to be wild type in size.
