thorax & macrochaeta
Induces a complex array of mutant phenotypes affecting eye, wing and bristle morphology. Overexpression between 0-24 hours after puparium formation causes a rough eye phenotype characterised by irregular ommatidia and lens disruptions indicative of cell death. Overexpression during the first six hours of pupariation results in loss of external sensory organ structures on the thorax giving a bald phenotype. Expression 24-48 hours after pupariation causes wing vein gaps.
Carried in plasmid "pCaSpeRhs-dx1-303", expressed in S2 cells and used in a colocalisation assay of N and dx proteins.
