No change has been detected in the zda coding sequence except for a conservative E186D change also found in many DGRP and DGN 1000 genomes (and so is likely not the causative lesion for the mutant allele). A C to G change ( 2R:18631636 ) has been identified in non-coding sequence; this change affects the 3' splice junction of intron 1 for the RB transcript, and will likely affect splicing of this transcript as it alters the largely invariant 3' splice site. The C to G change also changes the 3' splice junction of intron 1 for the RA, RC and RD transcripts; it is not clear whether not the splicing of these isoforms will be affected.
