lacZ expression is driven by the 0.8kb ac promoter linked to the DC enhancer.

5.7kb EcoRI fragment, from position 68.6 to 62.9 on the AS-C map, containing an enhancer for the dorsocentral (DC) cluster, is ligated upstream of the ac promoter fragment of Ecol\lacZac.0.8.
