      Mid third instar larvae exhibit large axon bundles that pass through the lamina and terminate in the medulla. This is consistent with mistargetting of R1-R6 axons. Retinotopy is disrupted and regions of the lamina and corresponding medulla regions are hyperinnervated. Sections of adult eyes are indistinguishable from wild type. The proliferation pattern of cells in the developing optic ganglia are indistinguishable from wild type.
