Larvae show anosmia when stimulated with nonanol, strain is dominant for the response to nonanol. Strain is recessive for the response to methyl octanoate. Contrary to wild type larvae fail to respond to nonanol, heptylacetate and methyl nonanoate and are slightly attracted to methyl octanoate. Larvae are repulsed by octanol and did not respond to octanoic acid.
Larvae are totally anosmic to nonanol. Larvae show abnormal responses to certain acetates.
Male and female larvae show total anosmia (little response) when stimulated with high or low volumes of nonanol. Response declines with larval age.
