An Hsp70 promoter drives expression of the Dmau\mariner\T coding region containing a T42I amino acid substitution.
Heteroallelic combination with Dmau\mariner\Ths.PL causes a lower excision rate than with Dmau\mariner\Ths.PL alone, regulation by dominant negative complementation (DNC).
P{T42I} mutant Dmau\mariner\T reduces the amount of w::Dmau\wpch.tGa mosaicism. In the absence of heat shock P{T42I} exhibits negative complementation when heterozygous with P{hsp70:Mos1} with respect to the extent of Dmau\mariner element excision from w::Dmau\wpch.tGa in the germline.
Assayed in D.melanogaster.
