An Hsp70 promoter drives expression of the Dmau\mariner\T coding region containing a G292R amino acid substitution.
Heteroallelic combination with Dmau\mariner\Ths.PL causes a lower excision rate than with Dmau\mariner\Ths.PL alone, regulation by dominant negative complementation (DNC).
In the absence of heat shock P{G292R} mutant transposase in the presence w::Dmau\wpch.tGa allows red pigmentation in several ommatidia. P{G292R}/P{hsp70:Mos1} allows an increase in w::Dmau\wpch.tGa mosaicism over the effect of P{G292R} alone but a reduction in mosaicism compared to a single copy of P{hsp70:Mos1} : negative complementation. In the absence of heat shock P{G292R} exhibits negative complementation when heterozygous with P{hsp70:Mos1} or P{hsp26-Sgs3:Mos1} with respect to the extent of Dmau\mariner element excision from w::Dmau\wpch.tGa in the germline.
Assayed in D.melanogaster.
