Heat-shock induced expression of Sh29-4.hs in a Sh16 mutant background results in fast inactivation kinetics and extremely slow recovery from inactivation in mutant neurons.
"Giant" neurons derived from flies carrying Sh29-4.hs in a Sh16, Sh21 or wild-type background show a heat shock inducible A-type K+ current. This current shows slow recovery from inactivation compared to wild-type.
