The majority of flies expressing CycBScer\UAS.cRa under the control of Scer\GAL469B survive only to late pupal stages, with less than 0.1% surviving to adulthood. These adults are smaller than normal and have a number of defects, including rough eyes, deformed wings and abnormal bristles. The mitotic index of third instar larval brains appears normal overall, although there are a very high proportion of anaphase stages, which sometimes show abnormal separation of condensed chromatin masses.
