The additional co-expression of DlD.Scer\UAS suppresses the increased number of type II neuroblasts resulting from the Scer\GAL4insc-Mz1407-driven co-expression of lilliScer\UAS.SR.T:Zzzz\FLAG and Su(Tpl)Scer\UAS.SR.T:Hsap\MYC in third instar larval brains, to the point of near absence of type II neuroblasts as compared to controls.
Co-expression of tshScer\UAS.cGa further enhances the suppression of eye development at the dorsal and ventral margins of the eye disc which is seen in animals expressing DlD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4bi-omb-Gal4. Clones in the dorsal part of the eye disc which are co-expressing tshScer\UAS.cGa and DlD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI cause autonomous overgrowth in the posterior margin of the dorsal eye, but photoreceptor differentiation is suppressed within the clone. The overall size of the eye disc is also reduced.
The neurogenic phenotype caused by expression of DlD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 is potentiated by co-expression of edΔECD.Scer\UAS, resulting in large tufts of macrochaetae and an increased density of microchaetae in the notum.
