        The organisation of the commissural fibres is abnormal in homozygous embryos. The ensheathment of the commissural axons is disturbed and regular regionalisation of the commissures is not seen. The commissural axons are not oriented perpendicular to the CNS midline. The morphology of the lateral glial cells appears normal.
