Hsp70 promoter sequences from -89bp to +89bp drive expression of amino acids 1 to 31 of Ocun\PKI carrying amino acid replacements R19G and R20G. The expressed peptide is an inactive control peptide and does not act as a protein kinase A (PKA) inhibitor.

      Flies carrying Ocun\PKI1-31.GG.hs learn as well as their wild-type siblings both with or without heat shock. Heat shock induced expression of Ocun\PKI1-31.GG.hs does not reduce odour avoidance behaviour or alter reaction to electric shock.
