When expressed via Scer\GAL4^hs.2sev the eyes are roughened. Phenotype is similar to that of Dl^{S.GMR.T:Hsap\MYC}, but with higher penetrance of ommatidial fusions. When expressed via Scer\GAL4^T113 a small eye phenotype results. Each ommatidium is square rather than hexagonal, although photoreceptor composition and orientation are normal. When expressed via Scer\GAL4^vg.int2.1 wings may be missing the anterior margin or be narrow. The phenotype of Ser^{S.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC} is more extreme than that of Dl^{S.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC} under these circumstances. When expressed via Scer\GAL4^A9 extra wing vein material develops with occasional nicking at the distal wing tip. This phenotype is strongly enhanced by loss-of-function Dl and suppressed by gain of function Dl.
