The primary spermatocytes of homozygous males have no Y chromosomal lampbrush loops. The primary spermatocytes become arrested in stage SPC II. Meiotic divisions do not occur in homozygous males, while female meiosis and the gonial divisions are normal. Primary spermatocytes persist and accumulate in the testis tube for several days before degenerating.
