Cuticular differentiation is normal in slfunspecified mutant embryos, but arrangement of cuticle around the embryo is abnormal and the cuticle is detached from the body. The head skeleton is tilted backwards. Posterior segments are contracted, and anterior segments are stretched around the egg tip.
