FlyBase curator comment: this entry is used to capture phenotypic information when the particular allele (or allele combination) used by the author could not be determined but the context of the experiment suggests that the phenotype being described is some kind of loss of function.
germ cell & germarium
Gonads in mutant larvae at the larval/pupal transition contain developed cysts.
Many pumunspecified homozygous ovarioles completely lack germ cells. Those that do not have germaria containing few germ cells, linked to a few defective egg chambers.
Embryos derived from pumunspecified mutant females lack abdominal segments but have pole cells. Escapers have abnormal bristles.
pumunspecified is a suppressor of visible phenotype of nanosGMR.PW
pumunspecified is a suppressor of eye phenotype of nanosGMR.PW
Many zpgunspecified; pumunspecified ovarioles are empty. Ovarioles with germ-cells look more like those seen in zpgunspecified single mutants than in pumunspecified single mutants: few germ cells at the tip of the ovariole. However, the double mutants do make slightly more egg chambers that zpgunspecified single mutants.
Suppresses the rough eye phenotype of flies carrying nosGMR.PW.
