An Hsp70 promoter drives expression of I-element nucleotides 1489 to 5572 (coordinates according to FBrf0043891) which encode I-element\RTase and the 3' end of the I-element. An Hsp70 termination signal is fused downstream of the 3' end of the I-element sequences.
Does not act as a repressor of I-element activity.
P{IviP2} can be mobilised in the germ line of strongly reactive females in the absence of active I-elements, when it is transcomplemented by I-element\RTase protein encoded by P{hs-I-element\RTase.HN}.
I-element\RTaseHN.hs can transcomplement the non-autonomous P{I-element.T:HA1.Δnuc} element, resulting in high frequencies of transposition of the P{I-element.T:HA1.Δnuc} element in the germ line of females containing I-element\RTaseHN.hs.
