Disrupts Bolwig nerve morphology. Nodules are present in 60% embryos, few embryos exhibit bifurcations. Nodules and bifurcations are most often present at the turn of the nerve. Despite the abnormal morphology of the nerve the path is approximately normal. Nodules result from misplaced photoreceptor cell bodies.
