ltwtV11 males are more sensitive to ethanol than wild-type flies; they elute from an inebriometer with a mean elution time (MET) of 12.38 +/- 0.75 minutes compared with an MET of 20 minutes for wild-type flies. They show normal ethanol absorption and metabolism, normal locomotion and normal geotaxis.
