      No extra neuroblasts are seen when E(spl)m5-HLHScer\UAS.cLa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4wor.PA or Scer\GAL4elav.PU.

      Flies expressing HLHm5Scer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL432B show mild gain of function phenotypes only when two copies of HLHm5Scer\UAS.cLa are used.

      Eye discs patterning occurs almost normally in animals expressing two copies of HLHm5Scer\UAS.cLa under the control of two copies of Scer\GAL4h-H10. These animals die as pupae without differentiating adult structures. Flies expressing one copy of HLHm5Scer\UAS.cLa under the control of one copy of Scer\GAL4h-H10 are phenotypically wild-type.
