Description

An aptamer peptide (pepC2) that does not bind Cdk1, Cdk2, Cdk4 or Cdk5 proteins is expressed as a conformationally constrained loop by fusing it to a stable platform molecule (the Escherichia coli trxA protein). It is expressed under the control of an Hsp70 promoter.

      Flies expressing Zzzz\aptamerhs.pepC2.T:Ecol\trxA using cyclic heat shock from the third larval instar until eclosion generally do not have eye defects, although some lines carrying Zzzz\aptamerhs.pepC2.T:Ecol\trxA do show a higher frequency of rough eye phenotypes than control lines.
