FlyBase curator comment: this entry is used to capture phenotypic information when the particular allele (or allele combination) used by the author could not be determined but the context of the experiment suggests that the phenotype being described is some kind of loss of function.
The ability of colchicine-treated rodunspecified larval brains to accumulate mitotic cells is impaired. While the density of mitotic cells doubles after 1 hour incubation in colchicine in wild-type larval brains, it fails to do so in rod-null mutant brains.
rodunspecified mutants do not display any difference in anaphase onset or mitotic acceleration.
