FlyBase curator comment: this entry is used to capture phenotypic information when the particular allele (or allele combination) used by the author could not be determined but the context of the experiment suggests that the phenotype being described is some kind of loss of function.
All homozygotes survive until the second or third larval instar stage. 70-80% of homozygotes survive to pupal or adult stages. Loss of maternal bl+ product has no effect on the survival characteristics of blunspecified homozygotes.
E(zip)31-631-6, HnRNP-Kunspecified has viable phenotype
E(zip)18-518-5, HnRNP-Kunspecified has viable phenotype
E(zip)12-512-5, HnRNP-Kunspecified has viable phenotype
Double heterozygotes with E(zip)12-512-5, E(zip)18-518-5 or E(zip)31-631-6 are fully viable and have wild-type leg morphology.
