Imprecise excision of the P{GawB} element. Scer\GAL4 sequences are still present. w sequences are not detected. A 2.9kb BamHI-PstI fragment ("pBSK") from the 3' end of the element is not detected. Surrounding genomic sequences are unaffected.

      The courtship index of heterozygous males towards decapitated Canton-S males is not significantly different from that of wild-type males towards decapitated Canton-S males. Homozygotes to some extent show high mortality during the first 2 days of adult life. Homozygous males are infertile, probably due to weakness.

      Only a few homozygotes die during preimaginal development and more than 85% of homozygotes eclose. The surviving adults never survive for more than 48 hours after eclosion.
