      ayUAS homozygotes develop normal wings and eyes. ayUAS driven by Scer\GAL4en-e16E produces no phenotype. ayUAS driven by Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI leads to pupal lethality, these pupae have rough eye with fused ommatidia, but otherwise appear morphologically normal. ayUAS driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF produces flies with a rough eye phenotype with eyes larger than seen in wild-type or with Scer\GAL4GMR.PF alone.
