A truncated Mmus\Map3k7 cDNA, lacking the N terminal 22 amino acids, is expressed under the control of GMR regulatory sequences.
All mutant flies show a severe eye phenotype. In the weakest lines eye size is less than 30% of the wild-type and ommatidial units are rarely identified. In addition photoreceptor cells and pigment granules are difficult to recognize. In the mutant pupal eye disc, cone cells, primary pigment cells and accessory cells exist in a disorganised array.
Mmus\Map3k7ΔN.GMR has eye phenotype, suppressible by BacA\p35GMR.PH
Proper numbers of cone cells and primary pigment cells are seen in Mmus\Tak1ΔN.GMR, BacA\p35GMR.PH pupal eye discs.
