Expression of ttk::Hsap\BCL6^{69.Bcl6ΔN153.Scer\UAS} under the control of Scer\GAL4^hs.2sev results in a rough eye phenotype. The R7 cell is missing in more than 70% of the ommatidia in these flies and there are on average 5.2 outer photoreceptor cells per ommatidium. Most R3/R4 cells develop properly but R7 cells fail to become neurons in larval eye discs expressing ttk::Hsap\BCL6^{69.Bcl6ΔN153.Scer\UAS} under the control of Scer\GAL4^hs.2sev. Expression of ttk::Hsap\BCL6^{69.Bcl6ΔN153.Scer\UAS} under the control of Scer\GAL4^ey.PH is much less effective in disrupting eye formation than expression of ttk^{69.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1} under the control of Scer\GAL4^ey.PH.
