The three copies of the activation domain from the Saccharomyces cerevisiae GCN4 gene have been moved from their location at the end of the Ser/Thr repeat in the bcdGCN4.x3 progenitor to the C-terminus of the bcd protein.
Embryos carrying P{bcd-GCN4.x3.C} show defective head structures and tor-dependent repression of bcd target gene expression does not occur.
