In flies expressing Or43aScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4GH320, an increased response to benzaldehyde is seen in electroantennogram (EAG) recordings. This increased response is seen in a concentration dependant manner. Dilutions of more than 10-3 show responses not significantly different to wild-type, concentrations. In response to a 10-1 dilution however an EAG amplitude double the size of wild-type is seen. Similar effects are seen for cyclohexanol cyclohexanone and benzyl alcohol. Butanol, acetone, ethylacetate and propionaldehyde elicit EAGs that are similar in amplitude to wild-type. As did 1,4-cyclohexanedione and cinnamyl alcohol.
